Karen’s cover of the Lou Reed song “Vicious” is now available digitally HERE, and if you weren’t one of the lucky few who were able to snatch up the limited edition peach rose petal vinyl of the single on record store day, the standard edition 7” is coming soon from Third Man Records.
Be sure to catch Karen at Bonnaroo this Thursday,
Jack White was busy releasing a bunch of singles for Record Store Day back in April, one of which featured the dulcet tones of his wife Karen Elson. Elson covered Lou Reed’s “Vicious” from Transformer for her contribution to Third Man’s onslaught of limited edition wax that went on sale, and you can hear that now in the clip below. It’s a fast-paced take on the track, with Elson dragging it close to her husband’s continued fascination with garage rock. It’s a welcome departure from her usual sound, which is helped into shape by some odd sound FX that ebb and flow as the track progresses. There’s not much chance of snagging a physical copy of this now
